27/10/2011

Swansea based property consultants CLC Chartered Surveyors has sold Hafan Plentyn, Guildhall Road South, on behalf of the City and County of Swansea to a regional property developer.

The property which became surplus to the Councils requirements at the beginning of the year comprises of 6,000sq.ft of office and ancillary accommodation over two floors with the benefit of on site car parking for several cars.  The property is also known as Maggie Thatcher House because it was opened by the then Prime Minister Margret Thatcher.

Peter Loosmore of CLC said: "As soon as the property was put on the market we received good interest from developers and owner occupiers from across the region.

"This was not surprising when you consider the buildings location, size and the on site parking facilities".

"The property was brought to the market at ÂŁ295,000 and following the initial marketing period, we received an offer from a party who was able to proceed financially with the purchase, at a level which was acceptable to our clients".
